My latest children's book, Beach Nature Journal, is now available!
Based on the success of my last book, Coastal California Nature Journal, I created this book specifically for educators, homeschooling adults, and program leaders who want to make trips to the beach an educational and engaging experience for their K-2 students.
At 36 pages, it's portable and especially useful for field trips and other programs that don't require hundreds of journal entries. Have a one-time beach trip planned for a program? Hand out these journals at the beach and send the kids home with them at the end of the day!
Beach Nature Journal features 7 different mini-lessons directly aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards for Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Each lesson includes information about their subject using West Coast marine life as examples, plus an interactive component. Teach one or more in your session, choosing from the following subjects:
